After being delayed for one week, the final episode of World Trigger Season 3 was recently released. Now, anime fans wonder if Toei Animation plans to renew the series for Season 4. Well, here’s everything you need to know about it.
World Trigger Season 4 anime TV series will complete the B-Rank Wars story arc and move on to adapting the Expedition Selection Exam story arc.
World Trigger is an anime adaptation based on a Japanese manga by Daisuke Ashihara. Toei Animation premiered the first season of World Trigger back in 2014, which featured around 70 episodes. The season was well-received by the community, and it came to an end in 2016.
Then, in 2021, the studio brought back the series with two more seasons, with the old cast reprising their roles. But now, the third season has also ended after giving us 14 incredible episodes.
Will World Trigger Get a Season 4?
When writing this post, Toei Animation didn’t officially announce Season 4 of the World Trigger anime. That said, there’s a good chance that the Japanese anime will be renewed for another season.
Similar to the previous two seasons, the third season of World Trigger was well received by anime fans. In fact, for some fans, Season 3 is, so far, the best season of the entire show. Initially, Toei Animation planned two release a second cour of the second season, but instead, they decided to go with a whole new season of World Trigger (Via: Monster and Critics). However, everything turned out well for the studio as the new season is currently sitting at an 8.22/10 rating based on 10,000+ votes on the Anime list.
So, honestly, it would be crazy for Toei Animation to give up on the series after only three seasons.
Also, several reports suggest that Season 3 adapted the story until Volume 22 of the manga. So far, 24 volumes of World Trigger have been published, so the studio has enough material to give us another season of the anime series.
World Trigger Season 4 Possible Release Date (Coming Soon)
Studio Toei Entertainment or any company related to the production of the anime has not officially confirmed the World Trigger Season 4 release date. Although the ending of the third season promised that the anime TV series will be “continued”, the production of the World Trigger 4 sequel has not been announced yet.
Fans of the series had hoped that more information about the fourth season would be announced at World Trigger Festival 2022 on February 27, 2022. This event at Tokyo Dome City Hall featured the Japanese voice cast from the previous three anime seasons. However, the official Twitter account and the various attending celebrities strongly exhorted fans to continue supporting the TV anime series.
Of course, we’ll have to wait for any official confirmation from Toei to know the release date for the next season. However, if the studio does plan to bring back the series, we might get a new season by the end of 2022 or in the first half of 2023.
