Nichijou Season 2 is one of the most popular anime series. It’s funny and relatable, which makes it easy to bring a smile to the faces of everyone who watches it. It doesn’t matter if you are watching it for the first time or second time, you will always find yourself smiling and laughing throughout each episode. It has been quite some time since Nichijou’s last episode aired, and the anime continues to be loved by many. Is Nichijou season 2 possible, please?

It looks similar to Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, as both pursue the same genre, and moreover, they share the same studio. But unlike Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid which revolves around a dragon theme, Nichijou has nothing to do with fantasy.

The anime series Nichijou is an adaptation based on a manga of the same name written and illustrated by Keiichi Arawi. The manga series began serialization on June 26, 2006, in Kadokawa Shoten’s manga magazine Shōnen Ace, and was also serialized in Comptiq between the March 2007 and July 2008 issues.

Both the manga and anime series were initially licensed in North America by Bandai Entertainment, but on January 2, 2012, Bandai Entertainment has stopped licensing the Nichijou along with the other series. The series remains unlicensed until November 4, 2016, when Funimation finally decided to license the anime series. Meanwhile, the manga series was licensed in English by Vertical Inc. under their Vertical Comics imprint from March 29, 2016, to September 19, 2017.

Nichijou Storyline

Nichijou relates the everyday life of the people of Tokisadame. Three high school students are friends, Yuuko Aoi (the energetic), Mio Naganohara (the bright and cheerful Mio Naganohara), and Mai Minakami (the silent, sad Mai Minakami). It tells the story of three friends, as well as Sakamoto, a talking cat. There are also some characters that live in indirect parallel to these three friends.

Will there be season 2 of Nichijou?

Nichijou was a 26-episode anime that aired between April 3 and September 25, 2011. It was produced by Lantis (Love Chunibyo & Other Delusions & Bungou Stray Dogs).

There have been ten volumes of the manga, the tenth being published in Kadokawa Shoten magazine called “Shonen Ace” on December 10, 2015. The companion book was 120 pages and commemorated the tenth anniversary. Arawi also announced that Nichijou would continue serialization in Monthly Shonen Ace magazine on October 20, 2021.

The series is still being serialized, but the producers or studios have not yet made any announcement about Nichijou season 2. Although Nichijou’s anime series ended in 2011, it remains a popular and highly recommended anime series for fans who enjoy light-hearted, funny anime. Fans can still hope for a renewed Nichijou season 2 even though it’s too early to make any conclusions.

Nichijou Season 2 Release Date

There has not been any announcement about Nichijou season 2, as mentioned above. There is a high possibility that Nichijou season 2, given the manga’s popularity and news about it being serialized again in the future. Fans will need to wait for the continuation of stories that are happening in Tokisadame for the time being.

MyAnimeList has shown that Nichijou has a remarkable rating of 8.46 among more than 250,000 users. It is also ranked 167 for popular anime. Even though the anime was canceled in 2011, its popularity continues to this day. This proves that fans and people alike still want Nichijou season 2. It is also ranked 127 on MyAnimeList’s top anime page, which is impressive for an anime that was released only a few years ago.

Hence, as of the current circumstances, Nichijou Season 2 has a low chance of release anytime before late 2024 or early 2025. We will update this section once the official release date is announced.
