KONOSUBA SEASON 3 CONFIRMED: RELEASE DATE, CAST, TRAILER & LATEST NEWS!

KonoSuba season 3 has been confirmed, but there is no release date for the third season of this anime series. Six years on, one of the finest and most unique sitcoms is coming back for not just a sequel—but a prequel as well.

KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o!) adapts the misadventures of Kazuma Satou and his unlikely band of allies in season three, based on the light novels from Natsume Akatsuki and Kurone Mishima. A prequel series focusing on Megumin, the Crimson Wizard, will also be released.

KonoSuba is a fantastic comedy isekai anime series with fantasy elements. Kazuma Satō is the main character in this series. The story is about Kazuma, a teenage shut-in NEET who finds himself with the worst party members. The archpriest and goddess Aqua, the archwizard Megumin, and the crusader Darkness. Together, they need to defeat the Devil King.

The movie is called KonoSuba: Legend of Crimson, and it’s from 2019. The film is a direct continuation of the second season. It’s unclear whether Season 3 will begin with it, so you should see it beforehand.

KonoSuba Season 3 Release Date

KonoSuba season 3 does not have a release date yet. Though the show has been announced, it is still in production and will likely take a year or two before broadcast.

The first two seasons of KonoSuba came out in January, which means the third season’s release date is likely January 2023. On average, after a new season gets announced, it takes around 12 to 18 months for the new season to be released.

KonoSuba season 3 is not coming out in 2022 because of that. So you should not expect it this year, but we will get the release date this year. I will update this post as soon as there is any information on the KonoSuba Season 3 release date on the official Konosuba Twitter account.

KonoSuba Season 3 Plot

There may not be an official plot synopsis for KonoSuba Season 3, but if confirmed, we can definitely figure out the plot details if we follow the light novels the series is based on. So far KonoSuba has followed the stories of the light novels pretty closely. And with 17 volumes of the light novel series, KonoSuba’s anime has a lot of story elements to choose from.

The first season of KonoSuba is based on volumes 1 and 2 of the light novel series, while Season 2 is based on volumes 3 and 4. In addition, the film seemed to serve as a sequel to the first two seasons as it was based on volume 5. In the film, the party travels to Megumin’s home village and battles with Sylvia, who is a Demon King general. Kazuma and his party ultimately defeat Sylvia, even after she manages to fuse with two other generals to take on a more powerful form.

The next season would likely be based on volume 6 of the light novel and focus on Kazuma having a meeting with The Crown after word of his party’s victories against the Demon King spread. However, this meeting with royalty leads to disaster, and Kazuma even winds up separated from his party for a bit. The movie also heavily focused on the budding romantic relationship between Kazuma and Megumin. So, it’s likely this would also be further explored in Season 3 of the series.

Spoilers For KonoSuba Season 1 & 2, And The Legend Of Crimson Movie

Kazuma, who could’ve claimed a powerful artifact or skill before heading into the adventuring beginner’s town of Axel, becomes inadvertently saddled with the goddess of water Aqua.

Kazuma, limited by his stats, uses ingenuity and a myriad of skills from different classes to overcome his shortcomings. Recruiting Darkness and Megumin through a series of inopportune mishaps, Kazuma and friends made a name for themselves as fine adventurers, taking down one of the Demon King’s generals, Verdia.

But in order to save the town, Kazuma made the call to teleport a self-destructing machine to a random location in the world, which ended up dealing collateral damage. Forced to pay back his debt, Kazuma takes on a series of adventures and eventually runs into another general, Vanir, and defeats him.

Surprisingly, Vanir comes back and isn’t all evil. Possessing a surprisingly business-savvy mind, he works with Kazuma’s knowledge of modern Japan to create a series of real-world products, making Kazuma immensely rich.

With new-found financial stability, Kazuma and friends take a holiday to the hot springs town of Arcanretia —only to run into yet another general, Hans, the deadly poison slime. A bold plan helps the team defeat Hans, marking yet another notch in the party’s belt.

Then, a mysterious letter from Yunyun, Megumin’s childhood friend, prompts the gang to head to the Crimson Demon Village where everybody is a powerful image, but exhibits worrying immaturity.

Another general, the chimera Sylvia, seeks a powerful weapon in the village named the Mage Killer, only to be thwarted by Kazuma’s increasingly famous adventuring party.
