Kakegurui, better known as Compulsive Gambler, is undoubtedly one of Netflix‘s best anime additions to its roster in recent times. Studio MAPPA’s visuals and Yumeko’s frightening deeds led to the endless release of euphoria throughout Kakegurui’s run. Netflix added the second season in 2019, and though fans expected Kakegurui: Season 3 to arrive by 2023, instead they got an adaptation of the prequel manga, Kakegurui Twin.
The anime and manga series are well-liked all across the world, and given that Netflix just made the prequel available in August 2022, they haven’t disregarded the franchise’s potential. The service offers Kakegurui Twin’s first season for streaming, which is intriguingly oddly short at only 6 episodes for any anime. We anticipate that Netflix may either reveal the release date for Twin’s second season or six brand-new episodes that will air soon.
Still, the prequel is just the cherry on top of the original adrenaline-packed anime, so here’s a quick look at when you can expect Kakegurui: Season 3.
When Is Kakegurui: Season 3 Coming Out?
Sadly, Netflix hasn’t confirmed that Kakegurui: Season 3, but that’s just part of the puzzle as they did recently add an adaptation of the prequel manga series to their service.
However, if you look at their past releases, they’ve usually done numerous releases throughout a year, therefore the possibilities of Kakegurui: Season 3 appearing by fall 2023 do look good. Kakegurui’s production studio, MAPPA, is now working on much mainstream anime series like Chainsaw Man.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Kakegurui have 12 episodes each, we expect Season 3 to follow that same pattern as well. At the same time, fans hoping to witness a sneak peek at the third season’s episodes should bear in mind that before that happens, Netflix might announce more of Kakegurui Twin.
What Is Kakegurui: Season 3 About? (Spoiler Alert)
Yumeko and Sayaka engaged in a bloody struggle in the Tower of Doors as the final Kakegurui: Season 2 episode concluded. Yumeko had an easy victory in the game, and it was clear that this had brought Momobami Kirari, the president of the student council, over to her side.
Kakegurui: The third season of the anime series will continue with the Student Council President Election Arc, which will have Momobami offering up her presidency as a lure to end Yumeko’s unrelenting winning streak. The anime follows a completely different order from the manga, so we are unable to provide a definitive response regarding the following game. Although Studio MAPPA chose a whole unique pattern, the adaption is nevertheless unquestionably fantastic and expertly put together.
That’s about it for news regarding Kakegurui: Season 3, but as the anime hasn’t disappointed yet with its amazing visuals and engaging story, it’s a safe bet to say that the third season isn’t far away.

What Is The Primary Story Of Kakegurui?
Hyakkou Private Academy is the setting for the Kakegurui narrative. The wealthiest kids in Japan attend this high-class, elite school. Funny enough, though, the student’s ability at gambling determines the order of the school, not their academic standing or any other characteristic.
The amount of financial aid that each student in the aforementioned institution gives to the student council determines their ranking. Students who gain the gaming committee’s approval gain notoriety, prestige, and connections. Unlucky individuals who lack popularity accumulate debt, work as domestic slaves, and cater to the whims and fancies of the student body. The “pets” who are unable to pay off their debts are given “life schedules,” which control their destiny because they must repay the obligation with their lives.
Kakegurui Ending Explained
The conclusion of Kakegurui would be important for the start of the following season. If memory serves, the Momobami family received a surprise from Rei, and they consequently found themselves in a gambling situation. Yumeko and Rei engaged in their final wager, which Yumeko won by a significant margin.
Later, Rei was likely set free from her “slavery,” and Yumeko dispersed all the votes she had gathered. In the previous season, that is how the plot concluded. As you can see, there is plenty of room for the sequel to this series to make up lost ground. We won’t need to worry.
