Happy Sugar Life Manga Ending

Happy Sugar Life season 2 may seem unlikely especially considering how the anime’s ending is handled. Satou Matsuzaka and Shio Kobe were set up for a sad ending in Episode 12, but is it possible events can continue in some fashion?

Serialized since 2015, the manga is up to 8 volumes as of June 2018 and over 40 chapters as of the ending of the anime adaption. In May 2019, it was announced that the manga would be ending on June 22, 2019. The final two volumes, VOL 9 and VOL 10 will be released simultaneously on July 22, 2019.

The English translation was licensed by Yen Press in July 2018. VOL 1 came out in May 2019, with VOL 2 & 3 scheduled for the fall of 2019. However, there are active fan-made scanlation projects that are only several chapters behind the Japanese release.

Why Is Happy Sugar Life Season 2 Canceled?

The storyline of the first season was following ahead of the manga and it practically passed through every one of the sections from the ten volumes. Also, the conclusion was satisfactory and didn’t leave any room for season 2. Hence all these suggest that the reason why the network canceled the series is probably because of the lack of source material or there is no story to continue or follow further if the series gets renewed.

So in conclusion, as of now, Happy Sugar Life officially stands canceled and there is no way we will get to see the second season sometime in the future but as stated above stay tuned to us as in any case if we happen to hear some good news regarding this series.

Happy Sugar Life Season 2 Release Date

Happy Sugar Life season 1, consisting of 12 episodes, premiered on July 14, 2018, and ran till September 29 of the same year. However, in spite of its popularity, a second season has not been officially confirmed yet and total broadcasting during the Animism programming block on MBS, TBS, BS-TBS, and AT-X. The series was simulcasted exclusively on Amazon Video globally.

Despite the admiration that season 1 got, the network MBS decided not to renew the series for the second season. Sad to say but MBS won’t pick up the Happy Sugar Life for season 2 and consequently is canceled and won’t return for another round to us.

That being said, there’s no reason to get worried just yet. Anime shows sometimes take five years to renew, and hence, there’s plenty of time for Ezo’la to announce a second season. Further, since new chapters of the manga series are still being published, there’s no dearth of source material for a second season. Given these facts, we think there’s a decent chance of Happy Sugar Life being renewed for Season 2.

If that happens, our best guess is that Happy Sugar Life’s season 2 release date could be sometime in 2022 (end) or 2023 (early). We will update this section as soon as we hear more. We’re keeping our ears open for news on Season 2 of Happy Sugar Life and we’ll update this section as soon as we hear more.

Happy Sugar Life Season 2 Storyline

The series is fixated on secondary school young girl Satō Matsuzaka who gets to know a mysterious girl named Shio and quickly turns out to be exceptionally connected to her. She promises to secure that sensation of affection, regardless of whether it implies perpetrating wrongdoings or in any event, killing individuals.

Why Is Happy Sugar Life Ending Explained

Many people are unhappy with the ending because, from what I’ve seen and heard, they felt like it was a cop-out. Satou never got any actual consequences, she just got to die and no one ever found out about her dark deeds. Since they all fell onto her Aunt.

I’d have to heavily disagree with this view of the ending. No, Satou did not get legitimate justice by law, or revenge by Asahi, but she got redemption. How? Let’s take a look at Satou.

In the end, Satou dies protecting Shio, who keeps the love she had for her inside her, while Satou’s aunt is arrested for arson and Shouko’s murder. Taiyou is back home in a catatonic state after losing his “angel.” Kitaumekawa is arrested, and the information he abusing students somehow leaked. Asahi visits Shio in the hospital, who is looking out the window at their mother, standing on the street looking back at her. Shio refuses her brother and states her love exists only inside her where the memory of Satou is.
